About us

The Do Politics Centre is an initiative developed by the Electoral Commission. This online resource hub contains practical materials, advice and guidance for all practitioners - from electoral administrators to youth workers and teachers - aiming to increase voter awareness and registration.

The introduction of the Electoral Administration Act 2006 has placed a new duty on local electoral administrators to encourage participation of the public in the electoral process, including the promotion of voter registration.

This provides an excellent opportunity for partnership work between electoral staff and community groups at a local level and the Electoral Commission is committed to supporting practitioners in this role.
